Philipp Baron is the leader of the Ferrari Challenge 2009

At the newly renovated race course of Imola the third round of the European Ferrari Challenge was held.

At race 1 Philipp Baron started from the 3rd place into the race. Right at the start he passed Björn Grossmann and so pushed himself to the second place. The leader, Max Blancardi, was the only one who could keep the speed of Baron. 10 minutes before the race ended it looked as if Baron would get ahead of the italian competitor. But Philipp Baron lost because of an oil slick on the route control of his car. He slipped off the track and was evaluated as 5th.

In race 2 Philipp Baron started from position 2 and defended his position during the first turn successfully. As in run 1 he and Blancardi were in front of the group. Blancardi won again, this time witz a lead of 0.6 seconds at Baron. Baron Philipp on the other hand had a lead of 14 seconds at the third-placed Grossmann.

Philipp Baron currently leads the championship with 100 points. Blancardi is ranked as the 5th.
