20th May 2007 - Monza (Italy)

Philipp Baron proved the 3rd place in both races for the Ferrari Challenge in Monza!

After 2 disappointing qualifications (Q1 = Rank 7, Q2 = Rank 10) Philipp Baron came from the back of the field and got twice on the podium.

In the first race Baron managed a good start in which he made up two positions. So he was on the 5th place before the first turn.

Only a fex rounds later, Gianluca Giraudi couldn't stand the pressure of Baron anymore and lost his 4th place to Baron.

According to a gearshipft mistake of Niki Cadei Philipp Baron got position 3 and started immediately with attacking Championship leader Vito Postiglione who was on position 2.

The two came together for the obligatory pit stop. They could develop their winning margin to Niki Cadei (P3).

5 rounds before the end of the race Baron and Postiglione were fighting so hard about the 2nd position, so that Cadei could chat up and began to attack Baron.

Baron had to leave Postiglione and concentrate on the defensiveness. During the last round there was a duel because of a wind shadow, where Cadei got the 3rd place for a short time. But in the famous "Curva Grande" he lost this position to Baron.

In the race number 2 Philipp Baron caught again a good start and was able to get the next position. Until the pit stop it seemed as if Baron would have to be happy with the 9th place. Thanks to a perfect strategy of the Baron Service Team and a perfect pit stop by Philipp Baron, he was able to get 4 more positions. Niki Cadei hat a tire damage.  Gianluca Giraudi had a braking failure and lost a lot of time in the crushed stone. So Baron once again was on place 3 and kept this position until the end of the race.
